Business growth, high performance and bacon butties!

It was lovely to see so many faces, new and old, at our Business Breakfasts throughout the East Midlands this month. A huge thank to all those that attended, joined in the conversations and made life feel a little more normal from being able to meet face to face again!

At the Business Breakfasts Rory spoke about the biggest challenges he has found that businesses face and how to overcome those ‘DRAG’ factors. He also spoke about the impact of increasing the cultural and commercial awareness within teams resulting in creating ‘LIFT’ which  gave attendees the knowledge to make a difference within their business.

We were lucky to have guest speakers at each breakfast, which added to our offering, and who are all local businesses themselves, so have either been through the same challenges, helped businesses with the same challenges or are currently going through the same challenges as we are seeing clients currently experience.

We started our Business Breakfasts at the beautiful Hemswell Court, just outside of Lincoln and who are a Team Lincolnshire Ambassador like ourselves. Paul Burrows, CEO at KryptoKloud was our guest speaker who spoke about cyber attacks on businesses, the most common mistakes businesses make and how they can help. We were also lucky to have Nicola Shepherd, Principal Business Investment Officer, with us who spoke about how and why Team Lincolnshire was created and what services they offer businesses in the region.

The following day we were at the Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium, home of Leicester Tigers, where our guest speaker was Mike Kapur OBE, a well-known businessman and Lord Lieutenant of Leicester. Those in attendance heard Mike speak about IT, how it has evolved and it’s importance within businesses today. There was some good conversations following the talks which seemed to have made an impact and got attendees thinking.

Our final event was held at Trent Bridge in Nottingham where guests had a spectacular view of the ground whilst listening to Rory and guest speaker Andy Goram. Andy, owner of BizJuicer and someone Wingman has been working with over the last 2 years or so. Andy spoke about ‘The Four Enablers’ with some great references to recent research and stories which from the nods and rumblings in the audience resonated with them.

Our first Business Breakfast events went really well with attendees gaining useful hints and tips as well as thought provoking ideas for their business which Wingman will be able to help guide them through.

We are currently working on the schedule of events for 2022/23 so keep your eye on our website.
